The sour taste that is concentrated in the lemon peel has been one of the reasons why almost everyone prefers to throw it away after squeezing out the juice. On the contrary, there are people who have decided to save it, because they have become aware that it is one of the most important sources of nutrients that the fruit contains.

You can get essential oil of citronella, phellandrene, vitamin C and natural fiber such as pectin. It also contains organic acids, such as citric acid, malic acid and formic acid. On the other hand, its volatile acids act as an anti-inflammatory agent, which  helps to reduce joint pain.

This together with its high content of vitamins A and C tends to control arthritis and reduces the risk of premature deterioration of the joints. It is also, uniquely enough, a source of calcium, potassium and iron, three types of minerals that strengthen bones, muscles and joints.
